Jonathan Gattman founded Western Trail Capital to bring flexible, thoughtful capital to businesses across the Texas-Oklahoma corridor. A long-time North Texas resident, Jonathan brings over two decades of investment experience in both public and private markets.

Prior to founding Western Trail, he was the founder and portfolio manager of Cloverdale Capital, a long-biased hedge fund that invested hundreds of millions in small-cap companies. Earlier in his career, he served as a Managing Director at Highside Capital Management, a Dallas-based multi-billion-dollar hedge fund, where he led investments in technology, business services, healthcare, and consumer companies. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded dozens of private investments and actively advised numerous funds and entrepreneurs on capital raising and business strategy.

Jonathan grew up in Florence, Alabama and holds a B.A. in Government from Harvard College. He has lived in Dallas, Texas for the last eighteen years, where he has been involved with numerous charitable and development causes, including The Elks Foundation and Capital for Kids. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, traveling, hunting, scuba diving, and playing backgammon.
